BIM optimizes project delivery to identify clashes and allows for a collaborative approach to identify alternatives and analyze constructability.

Construction Management

Our construction management team serves as an extension of your staff to help mitigate risk and keep the project on-track. We oversee, monitor, and inspect projects focused on schedule, cost, quality, and compliance.

Constructability Review

We know that construction does not start when the equipment arrives, it begins at project inception. The constructability review is designed to look at the constructability, minimize ambiguities between the specifications and drawings, clarify design details, and overlay design disciplines for coordination. The constructability analysis is not just about determining the ability to construct, but to evaluate the best value options for a project.

Cost Control

The rapidly escalating cost of construction, lack of resources, supply chain disruptions, and labor and material prices can have a significant impact on a project. The RSPS team identifies fair solutions to determine the discrepancies between the estimated costs and overall costs of a project. We track forecasts, deviations, changes, and payment applications to provide transparent information related to costs.

Document Control

Thorough documentation is paramount to a project’s success. The RSPS inspector's daily reports are detailed and comprehensive including all activities, pay items, quantities, equipment, labor, and materials used each day. Our team also manages meeting minutes, submittals, and requests for information using document control software to record the flow of paperwork. This documentation is critical for payments and change orders as well as defense against any potential claims.

Estimating

The RSPS team uses HCSS Heavy Bid to prepare our estimates and updates the program with the latest prevailing wage rates, local equipment rates with Equipment Watch verification, and material pricing. We estimate each activity and work item just like a contractor would, with the same level of detail and available resources. RSPS prepares side-by-side comparison of costs using Microsoft Excel to effectively demonstrate inconsistencies or discrepancies.

Planning/Scheduling

For decades, the RSPS team has developed and managed schedules using Oracle’s Primavera P6. It is a robust database software program that allows RSPS to plan, schedule, and control large-scale construction projects. Once we create the project database, including the specific Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for pre-construction and construction, then we add in the deliverables, activities, durations, resources, and relationships.

Risk Management

With early identification of key project challenges, mitigation strategies can be developed and fully vetted. RSPS recommends a risk workshop early in the process and subsequent meetings throughout the pre-construction phase. This allows the team to identify and define the risks, develop a risk response plan, and assign the risk owner. RSPS manages the risk register and communicates updates to the owner and team.

Staff shortages related to an aging workforce, budget cuts, and recruiting challenges leave many organizations without the technical talent they need to maintain operations for planning, engineering, and construction. Based on the needs of a project, our staff augmentation services can take different forms, ranging from providing an increased workforce on site, to project management. RSPS provides highly qualified, skilled, vetted, and proven staff to support your needs.

RSPS provides training seminars for a wide variety of topics ranging from schedule development to the implementation of best practices. Our instructors’ enthusiasm in training, project controls, and application usage is demonstrated in topic discussions, review sessions, and supporting exercises.
